Molecular Glue Degraders (MGDs) are emerging as one of the most promising advances in drug development, offering a way to target many previously "undruggable" disease-causing proteins.



Unlike traditional small molecules that rely on specific binding pockets, MGDs enhance interactions between a target protein and an E3 ubiquitin ligase, triggering the protein's degradation through the cell's natural ubiquitin-proteasome system.



Another important class is PROTACs, which use a bifunctional design to simultaneously bind the target protein and an E3 ligase, leading to selective protein degradation.



Rather than simply inhibiting proteins, these approaches eliminate them, opening new therapeutic opportunities. With growing R&D investments and clinical progress, targeted protein degradation is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting frontiers in precision medicine.
